Keystone XL Rally and Candlelight Vigil February 5th
As you've probably heard, late Friday the State Department released their final Environmental Impact Statement on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline. Despite Secretary Kerry and President Obama's past verbal commitments to take action against climate change, some experts say that this flawed report could ease the way for the President to make wrong decision on Keystone--unless we speak out loud enough and make Presidents stand up for his climate promises and for future generations.
** We'll meet, rally and hold our vigil at the I-95 overpass near the intersection of Delaware Avenue & N. Adams Street on Wednesday evening. Bring friends and signs if you have them!
This is an all-hands-on-deck moment to send the message to President Obama that Keystone XL fails his climate test and he must reject it. On the evening of Monday, February 3rd (*We're doing our event on WEDNESDAY, FEB 5TH due to heavy snow in the forecast for Monday*), we’ll come together around the country to make our voices heard.
No KXL protest vigils are being organized by CREDO, Rainforest Action Network, Sierra Club, 350, The Other 98%, Center for Biological Diversity, Oil Change International, Bold Nebraska, Energy Action Coalition, The Hip Hop Caucus, Overpass Light Brigade, Environmental Action, Waterkeeper Alliance, Friends of the Earth, Forest Ethics, Forecast the Facts, and others all around the country!
