The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is now accepting public comments for the Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Company LLC Environmental Assessment for the Proposed Brandywine Creek Replacement Project.
On Wednesday 3/6 a group of over 100 anti-fracking and pipeline activists converged on Trenton to demand that the DRBC ignore us no longer. Fracking for Natural Gas
The Delaware Chapter of the Sierra Club is committed to protecting the environmental and public health values of the Delaware River and Basin from proposed hydrolic fracturing ("fracking") for natural gas. Our goals are to
Increase public awareness of fracking, its health and environmental impacts.
Prevent fracking fluids from being processed or disposed of in Delaware or in the Delaware Basin.
Support a moratorium on fracking in the Delaware Basin while the following scientific research proceeds to determine its safety in our Special Protection Waters:
- Environmental Protection Agency completes its environmental study of fracking (expected in 2014).
- Delaware River Basin Commission conducts a "Cumulative Impact Study" of hydrolic fracturing for natural gas in the Delaware Basin.
- Landscape-scale analysis of natural gas drilling on habitat fragmentation and ecosystems.
