Horseshoe Crab & Shorebird Festival- 5/24 in Milton
When: May 24th, 10am-4pm
Where: Milton Memorial Park (map)
We will have a table again at this year's festival and volunteers are needed to hang out at our table and give interested visitors more information about Delaware Sierra Club! The festival is a great Delaware annual event-- Each year on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend the city of Milton, Prime Hook and conservation groups from around the state get together to celebrate our annual visit from thousands of horseshoe crabs (the world's oldest living species!) and the beautiful shorebirds that rely on them, stopping on Delaware Bay on their journey from South America to the arctic! Email Stephanie.firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to sign up.
This year will be the 11th annual event! The Milton Chamber of Commerce and the Prime Hook Wildlife Refuge sponsor the event. A shuttle bus will be available to transport visitors to and from the Prime Hook Refuge from the festival.
Check out the official Historic Milton event page & Count yourself among the 1,500-plus visitors who annually enjoy:
- arts and crafts, as well as an art show
- boat rides down the Broadkill River
- canoe trips on Prime Hook Creek
- exhibits and tables
- great food
