Our recent activities in the Delaware Legislature
We opposed SB 129, An Act to amend Title 7 of the Delaware Code relating to coyotes.
On June 30, 2011 Governor Markell signed into Law SA 1 to SB 70, which prohibits the chemical bisphenol-A in certain children's products, including bottles, cups, and other food and beverage containers. Bisphenol-A, commonly known as BPA, is a chemical used to harden plastic that is found in many food storage containers. BPA is a known hormone disruptor, and small amounts that leach from containers into foods and liquids are sufficient to cause health problems.
The Delaware Chapter of the Sierra Club opposes House Bill 86, which would end Delaware's participation in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI). RGGI is not just about climate change, although Delaware is uniquely vulnerable to even a modest amount of sea level rise.
