Club Forum: Natural Gas and Fracking, June 13, 2012
Article

The Delaware Chapter has been asked to develop a natural gas policy for our chapter and to recommend to the national Sierra Club. This Club Forum will assist our local chapter in developing a policy through a meaningful discussion of the implications of natural gas on our fuel supply, environment and health. Shale gas, extracted through the controversial practice of hydrolic fracturing (commonly known as "fracking"), has introduced new levels of risk and environmental harm to what was once thought of as a clean fuel source. This issue is indeed complex, and we look forward to the thoughts of our membership.
