Delaware City Refinery & Environmental Justice, September 20, 2012
Article

The Delaware Chapter of the Sierra Club invites you to a club forum that considers the environmental justice impacts of the Delaware City Refinery.
Thursday, September 20th at 6:30 pm
Delaware City Public Library
250 5th Street, Delaware City
What is the latest in the billion dollar expansion? Are the notorious tar sands coming to Delaware? What is the deal with all these permit violations? Is the refinery really operating on expired permits?
What is all the toxic air pollution about? Why does the refinery kill millions of fish each year? What can we do about it?
Yes, there are a lot of questions about the activities and plans of the Delaware City Refinery. Lemir Teron, one of our two environmental justice summer interns, has been investigating the answers to these questions and more. Join us as we consider the Delaware City Refinery from an environmental justice perspective. This is a conversation that is long overdue. Light refreshments will be served.
