Join us for the sixth annual gathering of Delaware’s environmentalists! Meet like-minded allies, discuss emerging issues and develop strategies to advance environmental protection in the first state.
Our chapter planned the annual Delaware Environmental Summit again this year on March 22nd. We had a great turn out with amazing speakers & discussions--in fact several people said they thought this year's program was better than any other year!
Thank you to everyone who spoke, facilitated the break-outs, helped with the planning and attended this year's summit! A special thanks to our co-sponsors.
Delaware Senator Chris Coons #Up4Climate Speech -As Delivered on the Senate floor on March 11, 2014-
Mr. President, I’d like to thank my colleague from Oregon, Senator Merkley, who's done a tremendous job laying out both the scientific case, and the compelling economic case, the cultural case, the global case for why we here in the senate need to wake up, need to listen to the indisputable evidence of what climate change is doing in our home states, to our country, and around the world.
The Dover Sierra Club First Wednesday speaker series returns on March 5th!
Meet fellow Sierrans while hearing excellent monthly speakers and enjoying good food at very reasonable prices.
Do you care about Delaware's coast and ocean and the communities that depend on them? Do you want ocean wildlife to be protected? Do you want clean water and shores to fish, dive, surf, kayak, and swim?
If so, show up this Thursday, February 27th at a public meeting held by the newly formed Mid-Atlantic Regional Planning Body (RPB) and let your voice be heard!
Thanks so much to the residents of "Protecting Our Indian River" for inviting our chapter to come down to meet with them regarding the proposed Chicken slaughter and processing plant on the former Vlasic site directly across from their neighborhood. A special thanks to Dotty, Ken and Joanne for showing Stephanie around the neighborhood, the beautiful Indian River in their backyards and the brownfield next door.
