We're in Dover, Delaware this morning at the Wetlands Advisory Committee meeting. Unfortunately, despite our comments in favor of giving DNREC the authority to protect Delaware's most vulnerable, or "category one" non-tidal freshwater #wetlands, the committee failed to approve the recommendations.
10/27 voted against the measure, realtors, developers, Sussex County Council, town of Seaford, farm groups, DE Forestry Council & 2 legislators. We are very pleased and thankful that all state agencies, including DNREC, DelDot and DE Department of Agriculture voted in favor.
Join UD students and student groups, Newark Residents Against the Power Plant, the Delaware Sierra Club and friends on Saturdays April 12th and 19th for UD’s Delaware Decision Days.
Here at The Sierra Club we support making democracy fair and open to all. We know that the groups & individuals trying restrict open and equal access to voting are the same ones pouring unlimited amounts of money into elections to try to buy our legislators---polluting our democracy and polluting our environment go hand in hand. That's why we support same-day voter registration.
