On December 6, 2014 at 9am we are going to join in a national day of action to protest PNC’s funding of Mountain Top Removal coal mining. PNC is the number 2 financer of MTR coal-mining, an outrageously destructive process that has levelled an area of mountains in Appalachia the size of the entire state of Delaware and contaminated 2,000 miles of streams.
When: Monday, November 17th at 12pm
Where: Senator Carper's Office, 301 N. Walnut St. Wilmington, DE
WHAT: DNREC will hold a listening session on the proposed plan by the EPA to cut carbon emissions from existing fossil fuel power plants. Once finalized, this rule will cut climate-disrupting carbon emissions from power plants 30% by 2030. While not perfect, this plan is a HUGE step in the right direction toward curbing climate change.
